Hershey Handbell Choir – Sunday, December 3, 2017

The popular Hershey Handbell Ensemble returns to St. Edward’s for a free holiday concert on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 3 p.m. The church is located at 2453 Harrisburg Pike in Landisville, and, although the event is free, an offering will be taken.

This seasonal concert always draws a crowd, so attendees are urged to come early enough to get a seat!

This year’s concert will include Fantasia on Greensleeves, In the Bleak Midwinter, He Shall Feed His Flock and more seasonal favorites.

Based in south-central Pennsylvania, the Hershey Handbell Ensemble was formed in 2004 to fill the need for an auditioned community ensemble comprised of persons able to play advanced literature, and interested in advancing the art of handbell ringing through education and performance while uniting people through the musical arts. The 15-member group, under the direction of Dr. Shawn Gingrich, performs on seven octaves of Malmark Handbells, Handchimes, and other assorted instruments.

The Ensemble will have their selection of popular CD recordings available for purchase at the concerts.

The concert is part of a series of events at St. Edward’s showcasing the church’s fellowship outreach. To get on the church’s email list for events’ notifications, readers should email: [email protected] with “Subscribe Events” in the subject line.

Ascultation Brass this Sunday!

We have a suggestion that will ensure you’ll have an absolutely fabulous time this Sunday afternoon.  After church, go out for a leisurely lunch.  Then return to the church by 2:45 to get a good seat for a wonderful and varied concert of brass music. The concert starts at 3:00 p.m.   If you look closely at the musicians, you might know one or two, for they are all Physicians! They perform beautifully and have selected a terrific program.   A Sousa march, a rendition of Freddie Mercury’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”, Leroy Anderson’s “A Trumpeter’s Lullaby” and even the “Beer Barrel Polka”.  A few famous classics and some Broadway tunes round out the program. You will have a terrific time and be able to drive home before dark!  Please don’t stay home, hear wonderful reviews from your friends on Monday, and have to say, “I wish I had gone.”  Don’t be disappointed.  Come, enjoy, meet your doctor (?) and maybe go out for ice cream afterwards.   Ascultation Brass is coming to St. Edward’s churchBe there.  You’ll thank us for reminding you!
