St. Edward’s Weekly Email: June 14 – June 21, 2019

WELCOMING FORUM WITH FATHER DAVID: Join us for our first Welcoming session on Sunday after our 3-part forum held in May.  We will meet in the parish hall at 9:25 AM to follow-up, share, and enact some of our “tasks” we were given during the 4 weeks since our last session.  All our welcome to attend!

A Happy Father’s Day to all the men of St. Edward’s!

The parish office is seeking a volunteer(s) to write “Thank You” notes to a list of people (provided by the parish office) each month. It is our way to keep our community of faith strong and connected, especially during this time of transition. If you are interested in doing this ministry and if we could find 3-4 people that are willing to take a list each month, along with note cards and stamps, and feel comfortable with handwriting, then we can share the responsibility going forward.  Please contact the parish office if you are interested.  This would commence in July.

Directories & Photo Permission

By the end of June, the parish office will be printing new directories and will be including a photo release form for EVERY parishioner to complete and sign.  This enables us to know that you give us permission to use your images we take at services and events to post on our web site and Facebook page and use in our announcement bulletins, Scepter newsletter or include in any press in newspapers or on the diocesan web site.  It is important for us to protect everyone’s privacy so when you receive the forms, please complete and return.

SCEPTER:  Articles, announcements and pictures for the summer Scepter (July/August) are due Thursday, June 20. Please send to HJ_Miller@Outlook.com

If there have been any graduations in your family, I would be happy to include commencement pictures.

SACRISTY RENOVATION:  We are in the middle of renovating the sacristy.  For all members of Altar Guild and for the LEMs and LEVs:  Please bear with us as we work through this process.  For the Altar Guild we have set up a make-shift area in the narthex sink and it is set up with all necessary items and in a similar fashion as the one side of the sacristy.  For the LEMs, all of your robes and crosses are in the Christian Ed cubicle next to the parish office.  The robes are hung up (not in any order) and the crosses, etc. are on the table.  If we could keep these hung up and neat during this process that would be very helpful.  For the LEVs:  I will place your kits and visitation forms in the narthex area for you to refill and wash.  This will be going on for several weeks, well into July so we appreciate everyone’s patience.

Search Committee

The group discussions to review the survey results have concluded for now.  But, the results will remain available on our web site.  And, of course, if anyone has any thoughts, concerns, or questions, please reach out to the members of the search committee.  Your voice is valued!

Search Committee Prayer

Good and gracious God, we come before you in our time of transition as we seek a new rector for St. Edward’s church. Jesus taught us to ‘seek first the Kingdom of God’ and we ask your continued grace be poured upon us as we place the wishes and desires of our parish in Your hands. Help us to navigate the process in a spirit of hope, hearing all the voices within our congregation, knowing that the Holy Spirit is ever present to guide and lead us in Your most holy will. God, send your blessings on our Search Committee as they work to find a rector who will lead us, tend to us, and challenge us to be the best people we can be. When the journey seems long and our faith runs low, help us to remember that You walk with us always. Help us to be open to the stirrings of the Spirit and trust that all things will work out for our good. We ask this in the name of Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
