St. Edward’s Weekly Email: April 19 – April 25, 2019

Search Committee Prayer

Dear Lord, as humble followers in your Son Jesus Christ’s footsteps, with discerning hearts and minds, we have prayed for your enduring wisdom in hearing and reading the words of our fellow parishioners. In keeping with this same power of the Holy Spirit, we ask for your continued direction in seeking our next Rector, one who may not only be an instrument of your Peace in preaching your Gospel, but who may also teach us your holy purpose, lead us and our children closer to you, and guide us along the future paths that you have chosen for us. Amen.

Your St. Edward’s Search Committee,

Dottie Gschwend, co-chair

Matthew Sternberg, co-chair

Father David will be offering a 3-part Adult Forum between the 8 am and 10:15 am services on Sunday, April 28, Sunday May 5th, and Sunday May 19th (May 12th is Contemporary Service Sunday).  The topic will be Welcoming and Church Growth.  This aspect of parish life is so very important for us as we are in transition and look to be informed and prepared for continuing growth and in anticipation of our permanent rector.  We are grateful that Father David is sharing this ministry gift with us as he will offer insight and information that can help us welcome newcomers, and outreach to current parishioners, at St. Edward’s.  We hope you will attend!

Did you know that St. Edward’s has a Facebook page?  Well we do!  And we are always looking for photos and information about the community of St. Edward’s.  From Praise Band to Choir, ALERT meetings to coffee hours, Sunday and Wednesday services, events we host or community outreach we engage in at St. Edward’s are great ways to let the wider community know who we are.  So, let’s spread the good word!  If you have a photo and information you would like posted, please submit to the parish office and it will be reviewed promptly by the rector and will be posted.
