St. Edward’s Monday Message – September 28th

Dear friends and parishioners,

A Collect for Guidance from The Book of Common Prayer
Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

May you be filled with peace, faith, and love in all ways, and in all your days of this week.

Be well. Stay safe. Keep the faith.

– Michelle

In case you missed our Sunday service!

We just tallied up the most recent donation, made possible through the generous spirit of St. Edward’s parishioners and friends and we are sending HAFP a check for $1,840 this week, as well as a Stauffers gift card.  Since our outreach, during this Covidtide, we have collected $4,315 in monetary donations that have been sent to HAFP.  Such an expression of love.  Please continue to support the Hempfield Area Food Pantry with monetary donations and food items.  Below is a new “wish list” of food items for October:

Cereal, spam, prune juice, chicken and beef broth, large peanut butter, large jelly, 2 pound packages of rice, canned pears, instant oatmeal, boxed pasta, cream of celery soup, and cream of chicken soup.

We continue with Session Two, with the Book of Common Prayer and our text, Walk in Love. As you read your text this week, and review Bob’s handout, we hope you will find a few extra minutes to explore and make notes and observations that can be shared with the group, as we take this journey towards a deeper understanding of our Episcopal Identity & Faith, together, in community. Attendance at every session is not required.

We encourage you to have your Book of Common Prayer for each session and the text, Walk In Love is optional, but can be ordered at forwardmovement.org or by contacting the parish office (we have copies on hand).  If you do not have a copy of the BCP on hand, this link will give you the downloadable pdf.
